Natalie Amaya is a proud Latin-American Director working in Media & Entertainment.
She first got her start in filmmaking through Post-Production. In her formative years, she worked as a junior editor for a top marketing agency in Houston, TX. Through video editing, Natalie learned the necessary foundation to effectively communicate ideas and stories.
In her pursuit of becoming a filmmaker, she stumbled upon Live Production and became a Camera Operator/ JIB Op for Live Events. Her drive to diversify production crews led her to train as a Technical Director for Broadcast and eventually became one of the few female Technical Directors in Houston at the time.
Although working in Live Production Natalie was always drawn to storytelling. Naturally, she started to test the waters as a Director of Photography in documentaries. Working with many local organizations to tell authentic and empathetic stories. In 2019, her work in documentaries led her to be chosen as lead Director of Photography for a documentary in India surrounding an organization's efforts to rescue mothers and children from sex trafficking. (It’s quite the story, ask her about it sometime.)
From editing to Associate Producing, this production aficionado has spent close to ten years learning the ins and outs of production.
Natalie currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
